Our mission is to equip students with the skills, experience, and certifications to be in the business of technology. When our students leave the Digital Media Academy, they will be ready for various careers and opportunities in the area of technology.
What Are We
Charles W. Flanagan’s Digital Media Academy is a group of our school’s top innovative students who have an interest in the world of technology and digital media arts. We emphasize creativity, professionalism, and excellence as we strive to be the future innovators of tomorrow. The overall goal is for students to design/create enhanced digital creations beyond a simple photograph, bland website or text based composition. By doing so, students become proficient with Adobe Photoshop, Dreamweaver, InDesign, and more. Students learn to study existing layouts and design in print and digital media to learn the concepts of contrast, repetition, alignment and proximity.
Why You Should be Certified
Certification is the validation of your knowledge and can affect your career opportunities. In this digital age, people who stay ahead of the technology curve increase their marketability and have a competitive edge. Certifications are based on global standards designed to verify your understanding of technology and your readiness to meet and overcome challenges. Students in the Digital Media Academy have many opportunities to earn various industry certifications. All certification exams are offered free of charge to students enrolled in Digital Media Academy courses.
You can always make a webpage without knowing HTML, but have inevitable problems no matter what webpage editor you're using and you will need to know HTML to fix it. There are many good websites where you can learn HTML, but this article "How-to Design Amazing Web Pages Using Basic HTML" shows you the basics of creating a website in that format. With this basic introduction, you'll soon be able to make a webpage from scratch!
